BellSouth Education Gateway--A searchable database of educational web sites, from BellSouth, designed as a native speaker resource.   The site includes resources for teachers (i.e., lesson plans, connections, ideas) and students (college planning, fun and games, etc.). 

Community Learning Network: Educational WWW Resources for K-12 Students and Teachers--Searchable index organized by subject.  Specific subject areas include: Current Events, ESL, Information Technology, Social Studies, and Science.

EDSITEment!-- This site "brings together the best of the humanities on the web. It is a constantly growing collection of the most valuable online resources for teaching English, history, art history, and foreign languages. EDSITEment is a joint project of the National Endowment for Humanities, the Council of the Great City School, MCI WorldCom, and the National Trust for the Humanities."   You'll find loads of interesting materials and lesson plans here.

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence - Home Page--"On April 18, 1997, President Clinton asked federal agencies to determine what 'resources you can make available that would enrich the Internet as a tool for teaching and learning.'  In response, more than 30 Federal agencies formed a working group to make hundreds of federally supported education resources available at this web site."  Super extensive, fully searchable, browseable database, courtesy of the U.S. government.  It's a massive site to navigate, so go with a specific question or the desire for some surfing fun.
